Tips for parents helping with math
* Always encourage your child, talking negatively about math will only lead students to dislike math.
* Math builds on itself. Each lesson leads to the next lesson. If students don't understand a lesson, they will struggle with the next lesson as well.
* If they are struggling with a particular lesson, have them watch the video, play the game(s), work the extra worksheets, & find the matching lesson in the EnVision textbook for more examples and practice.
* Encourage your child to work on iReady at home at least once each week.
* Remind your child to ask for help from the teacher while she is covering the topic in class. Waiting until the quiz/test is NOT a good time to say "I don't understand."
* Check their grades on a regular basis so you will know how your child is doing.
